Knox Vault Backup blocks my whole system

I have one 12 GB Knox Vault, OS X 10.6.4 running on a new MacBook Pro with an SSD.
It seams as if the backup of the Knox Vault on a external USB drive blocks the whole system. I can't work on it, it's not slow it basically stops.
What's needed to speed my system during backup?

In the meantime I deleted the Knox preference file. That seams to work.Flag 0
