Attachments with Logins

Options
<div class="IPBDescription">Attachments are not preserved when Login replaced</div>Hello there, first day of using 1Password so I might have misinterpreted usage etc ..

I've noticed that when you force a re-save of a Login, you are given the option to replace the original Login.

The option also allows to preserve the original Tag and Notes but not any Attachment. This is a shame since the attachment is there because it has crucial information.

Is this going to be considered for a later release or should I be preserving the important attachments in a related Account item ?

    Welcome to the forums, Sourberries!

Thank you for bringing this up.

It is a balancing act between users who want to replace an item with a clean slate and users who want to update the login item with a new username, password, or URL. We use the word "replace," but, as you correctly point out, Notes and Tags are preserved which is more of an update.

I will pass your suggestion along to the developers so they can take it into consideration when making changes to the replace/update mechanism(s). It's not a simple problem since different users have vastly different expectations, but we hope to find a way to craft the process to make the most sense to the most number of folks.

I'm sorry I don't have a better answer at this time, but I hope that explains a bit where things are and where they might be headed. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

If you have any further questions or concerns, please let me know.

    Cheers,
