FF5 keeps installing 1P extension for FF4

<div class="IPBDescription">despite constant removal from Extensions list</div>1P extension for FF4 keeps showing up "disabled" on extension list in FF5.

I keep removing it, but if I launch iP (v3.6.1) before restart of browser, then the extension for FF4 comes back after browser restarts.

What is going on???

This is perfectly normal as 1Password installs two extensions, one specific to Firefox 5, and one for Firefox 4. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

If you are having trouble getting the extension to work, however, that is not normal. I would love to resolve the problem in that case.

    Please let me know.

Man, this is driving me crazy, too. Why can't you just make 1P install *only* the extension needed for the *installed* FF version? When I had FF4 installed, 1P didn't annoy me by installing extensions for older FF versions. So how is this normal?

I'd appreciate a fix for this very much!

This is because previously Firefox did not require a brand new extension for every major version. It is a long story and I do not want to go into the technical details — installing both extension is the best solution we found so far. We are working on making it better.
