1P icon grayed out after latest upgrade

I recently upgraded to the latest version of 1password (3.6.5) and now, *frequently* when I hit a page where I need to enter a password the 1P button is grayed out and there is no other way to enter the information. I now have to retype my login and password at nearly every prompt and the program has become useless other than as a storage of my passwords.
Has anyone seen this? Is there any way I can fix it??
