1Password App Images

Really love 1Password, and currently use it on my 2 macs either under mac os or bootcamp. Now I'm currently using 1Password beta on android and have to admit at the moment I'm just happy that it's here in any format :*

However, everytime I go to the 'Photos' app on my HTC Desire running 2.1 with sense I become really annoyed... can we please find a way to hide the application images ? ;(

Sorry if this has been raised but I've just become a farther and am suffering sleep deprevation and couldn't find another post.

Hi GreasyPole, and welcome to the forums!

The solution is to simply delete the style folder from within the keychain. Gene posted about that here if you'd like the full explanation.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi GreasyPole,

I am glad you raised the issue, some users are annoyed seeing application icons in their photos.

As Rob already recommended to you, just remove Styles subfolder from under the 1Password.agilekeychain folder and

    your problem will magically disappear.

Please let me know if it fixed your problem.

    Best Regards,

    Gene

    Hi GreasyPole,

I am glad your problem is solved.

BTW there is a new release just posted today, I recommend you to upgrade your 1Password for Android.

There is no Dropbox integration yet (I am still working on it) but there are some features you will definitely like.

Please let me know your opinion on that.

    Thank you in advance,

    Gene

Downloaded Beta4 last night and love the new features... definitely a step in the right direction.

However, what new beta wouldn't be without issues !

    1. unlike most all other apps after the upgrade/new install ? the shortcut on my home screen no longer worked and I had to delete and re-add.

    2. app was working fine as intended after first said upgrade/install but after a reboot of my phone (for another issue) as soon as I try to open 1password i get forced close (HTC Desire stock ROM). another reboot then appeared to fix this and app has been fine to date.

Would really love to see some kind of gesture unlock though if possible (I develop for a living so appreciate how something can seem so simple to ask for), as for security reasons my master password is quite complex ! i personally believe androids pattern/gesture unlock is much more secure than a pin.

    Keep up the great work.

    Hi GreasyPole,

I thank you for your input and glad you like the new features in Beta 1.4

I hope it is not a huge deal to recreate a shortcut after an upgrade, as for the gesture unlock, I will need to think about this feature and how it is

compliant with security.I may have to add a PIN (don't limit it to 4 though, make as long as specified).

I am not sure how a crush occured after a reboot, I rebooted my Nexus 4G many times and there was no problems at all.

Please check available memory on your phone, there is a very intence PBKGF2-based password decryption/validation process going after you enter a password, so

sizable memory chunk if required for that. Also it is quite possible that another issue took all avail memory (it happens). In any case, please do some more testing and let me know

if you can reproduce the issue consistenly.

    Best Regards,

    Gene

Shouldn't have been a memory issue as I use Task Manager to keep my system clean, and with my ethics to closing un-needed programs I have never seen seen available memory (as reported by the widget) drop below 185M. However, it may well have contributed, I'll try and play harder and see what happens letting you know my findings.

    Hi GeneY,

I've managed to replicate the force close issue, and it appears to happend when I hold down (as if to bring up options/copy to clipboard) on the URL of some on my logons... immediately after this happens I can normally log back in to app fine, but occasionaly it will force close on me as I log in. Checking my memory when this happens I definatley have at least 150M free (according to Task Manager).

    Hi GeasyPole,

Thank you very much for your input, the issue is already replicated and fixed, the fix will be available in the next release !

Click on the link behaves properly as it should be, however long-click created some problem.

    Best Regards,

    Gene

On a Droid, 1.0 Beta 5.5 version, all images that comprise 1Password end up in the gallery. VERY annoying.

So, another simple fix is to put a .nomedia txt file into 1Password.agilekeychain > style > images >

it's a pain to do every time you update your keychain, same with the deleting of the "styles" folder, but it does work.

Maybe the devs could just place that as part of the source of a keychain atthe root level of "images" with all new 1Password updates so it just gets dealt with going forward.

    Hi KizzashRules,

    Thank you for your feedback.

Some users report the problem with Gallery seeing and indexing all images under the keychain.

However, deleting style subfolder instantly fixed the problem for them.

Notice that the problem may occur only when you manually put 1Password.agilekeychain folder on SD card.

During Dropbox synchronization we don't move any images on the phone. I strongly recommend you to use

this feature in order to avoid the problem.

Alternatively , you can just copy only default subfolder with all its contents (located under

1Password.agilekeychain/data ). This "default" subfolder is everything that 1P for Android needs in order to

    work properly.

Please let me know if you need more info.

    Best Regards,

yeah, I do the manual copy to SD card method. always leery about keeping my keychain in drop box.

anyway. with the drop box method, what if you do not have web access at the time but in a PW for something? seems if that is the case, your SOL as you cannot get access to your keychain as it is on the web, not on your phone. agreed?

    Hi KizzashRules,

Not sure I properly understood your question.

Could you provide more information on what you are trying to achieve and I will be more than happy to help you.

Also please clarify abbrivations PW and SOL.

    Best Regards,

    Gene

BTW, I think that security concerns with using Dropbox are somewhat overblown.Very many customers are using Dropbox integration

and so far nobody reported any issues. In any case, nobody will be able to see your keychain data without knowing your master password.

    Gene I think

    PW = password

SOL = well.....Sheet out of Luck (substitute another word for sheet)
  • Hi thightower,

Thank you for some clarification but I regret, I still have trouble understanding exactly what you are trying to achieve.

You keychain is copied to your phone during syncing, and not accessed remotely anytime you read your data.

Therefore, in order to read your secure data, there is absolutely no need to have a mobile network available.

Network is needed only when you want to synchronize your phone's data with your PC/Mac.

If you make any changes to your secure data, you may simply copy 1Password.agilekeychain file from your PC/Mac to the SD card on your

phone, for this no network is required.

Please let me know if I answered your question in sufficient details.

    Best Regards,

    Gene
