Transfer 1PW License from One Mac to a New Mac

I'm in the process of buying a new Mac and I was wondering how I would transfer my license from my old Mac to a new Mac. I originally purchased my license through the Agile website and currently using v. 3.8.15

    Hi dixie44

Good news on multiple fronts, Its really easy. And I think you will be pleased <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

Download and install 1Password when prompted for the key simply enter your license key. Alternatively you can manually enter the key under the 1Password > register or license.

I am running the MAS version so forgive me if I do not remember the exact licensing prompt. I assume you have your license stored somewhere safe <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> If not don't worry.... some overlook adding it to the 1Password vault section. Please visit https://agilebits.com/c and the system will allow you to access all keys associated with the email account used to purchase 1Password. If you don't have a password for it. Please click the link to request one. Again please use the email address used to purchase 1Password.

Alternately you can visit https://agilebits.com/home/licenses and have the licenses emailed to you. Some prefer this method over the above. I am an old die hard and like my previous mention as it allows me to see my KNOX licenses etc all in one place plus all of my multiple licenses for 1Password. Either way the choice is yours.

The company licensing policy allows you to use the license on all Macs that you are the sole user of (single user license) so you are free to continue using 1Password on the older Mac. That is if you are keeping it and not it selling etc..

Here is some additional information on the licensing policy just thought you might want to read ti for yourself its super long. Not really.

Don't forget to set up Dropbox syncing (if you haven't already) to seamlessly transfer your 1Password data to the new Mac.

    http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/configure_dropbox_on_mac.html

    Short version:

    1. On the existing (old) Mac, install Dropbox.

    2. Click the "Move to Dropbox" button in 1Password's preferences.

    3. Wait for Dropbox to finish syncing.

    4. On the new Mac, also install Dropbox.

    5. Wait for Dropbox to finish syncing.

    6. Open 1Password to see all your data.

Thanks! I've got my license. Now, all I have to do is transfer the data file to my new Mac using Dropbox or transfer the data file (in my Documents folder) to the Documents folder of the new Mac
