After reboot can't lock 1Password and the extension is being locked separatelly

Hello, i just reboot my MBP with Lion 10.7.3 and after i ran Safari, i noticed a red alert mark inside 1password extension button. I clicked on it and typed in my password and got Database Error, press CMD-OPT-Q and restart safari. I did that and logged into the extension, but now the extension and the app seems to be working separatelly. If i lock my app and quit it, after i run it again it appears unlocked (why?). If i lock the main app, the extension stays unlocked. If i lock the extension, the main app is unlocked.

What's going on?

I tried to reinstall the extension.

You have Universal Unlock enabled, so the extension and app will unlock in tandem. If you unlock one, the other will unlock.

Normally, they will lock together, but there is a bug in 3.9.4 that prevents this. For now, if you manually lock the app or the extension, you will also need to manually lock the other. This does not apply to auto-lock.

This should be resolved in the next update.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with in the meantime.
  • Ok, it's good to know there is a such bug. I'll explain that i got:

    From 1Password App:

If i unlock 1P App, the extension gets unlocked.

If i lock 1P App, the extension keeps being unlocked.

If i lock 1P App and reboot it, it runs unlocked.

    From 1P Extension:

If i unlock 1p Ext, the app gets unlocked

If i lock 1P Ext, the app keeps being unlocked.

If i lock 1P Ext and reboot 1P App, it runs locked.

I hope it can help you to resolve that bug.

    Thank you.

Your report is consistent with the behavior I described in my post above. As I mentioned, this is a known issue and should be resolved in the next update. That is to say, manually locking the app should lock the extension and manually locking the extension should lock the app in 3.9.5.

    3.9.5 is not released yet.

In the meantime, auto-lock (as opposed to manually locking either the app or extension) will lock both in tandem.

In my case, I prefer to use the "Lock when sleeping" option and just close the lid to my MacBook when I am not using it. Both the extension and app are locked in this case even in 3.9.4.
  • ok thank you, will be waiting for the 3.9.5.

I usually download with amule so i keep my lid opened.

1Password is only legally and safely available from the AgileBits website or, in the case of 1Password 3.9, on the Mac App Store.

What do you mean? I have a legally purchased on MAS version.

I think khad, just mi-understood that you were just telling him you leave your lid open so you can use amule.

He after all said he closes his lid etc etc.

Just a simple mis communication. Sorry about that.

I think I am still very confused. The only aMule that I am aware of is a P2P file-sharing service.

My confusion shouldn't be cause for alarm, though. If you purchase and download 1Password from the Mac App Store, then you are all set. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
