New Firefox extension can't connect
I am running 1Password 1.0.9.BETA-282 and have installed the new Firefox extension which I have been eagerly awaiting. The icon shows up with the red circle and exclamation mark which I believe means it can't connect to the main application. I am on the Firefox release channel (10.0.2) and have tried the regular and beta extensions. I have disabled all other Firefox extensions with no change. I am on Windows 7 64bit and have of course tried rebooting the PC! I am seeing the same issue on both my home and work PC's.
I am running the extensions in Chrome and Safari with no problems. Are you able to help?
Thanks for your time.
*Update* I have reinstalled Firefox and created a new profile. The only extension installed is 1Password. I still get the exclamation mark (and the message in the drop down box "Problem with 1Password Helper") but can now connect / login and access my information. Data changed in Firefox is not being synced back to the app however.

Welcome to the forums, talizker. If the problem is only in Firefox, please try this:
1. Open Firefox.
2. Remove the 1Password extension.
3. Enter about:support in the address bar and press Return.
4. Click the "Open Containing Folder" button.
5. Quit Firefox.
6. In the Explorer window that opened, go up one level in the file hierarchy.
7. Move the OnePassword.sqlite to your desktop.
Then reinstall the extension via the preferences in 1Password.
Please let me know how it goes.Flag 0 -
Thank you, and thanks for the prompt response.
I followed the above instruction but saw no change in the Problem with 1Password Helper issue. I then followed the instruction in conjunction with another clean install of Firefox and Profile. This time after installing the extension everything worked fine and I used the browser for 30 minutes with no problems. I then installed Xmarks and as soon as the browser restarted the problem returns. Uninstalling the Xmarks extension does not solve the problem. I did another clean install of everything and again 1Password worked fine. This time I installed Adblock Plus and again, as soon as the browser restarted the problem returns.Flag 0 -
Very strange. I've not seen anything like that before. It sounds like you are saying that installing either the Xmarks or AdBlock Plus extension causes some kind of interference on your machine. That is certainly odd. I'll continue to see if I can reproduce the issue here.
If you don't install either of those extensions does the problem still arise? Does it happen with any additional extension you install?Flag 0 -
I'm having the same issue here. Let me know if theres anything beyond whats already been written above that I can do to help hunt down the issue.Flag 0

Welcome to the forums, Ben. Please make sure you are running the latest version of 1Password (1.0.9.283) and then remove the extension from Firefox. Then reinstall it via 1Password's preferences. While working on troubleshooting this, I saw a similar temporary issue myself that was resolved by reinstalling the extension.
Also try restarting the Helper (Help > Restart 1Password Helper) and let me know how it goes.Flag 0 -
Hi Khad, thanks.
You're either up very early or very late? <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
I can confirm I'm on the latest version of 1Password. Also on latest release stream of FF (not beta)
I already tried reinstalling the extension twice; no joy there.
I just tried restarting the helper, and again no go.Flag 0 -

Can I get credit for both? <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
Sorry that you are still having trouble. I take it you have already tried the steps in my post above and creating a new profile hasn't helped.
You've got me stumped a bit, but we'll keep working until we get this resolved.
Do you have any trouble with the Chrome or Safari extensions?Flag 0 -
Hi Khad
Yep I'm getting the same behaviour as talizker.
On my Mac, the Safari extension is fine.
On this Win 7 x64 machine, the Chrome extension is fine (but Chrome has been very buggy as of late - hence me coming back to FF)
Appreciate the helpFlag 0 -
Those of you who can connect using Chrome of Safari, but cannot connect using Firefox, can you please send us a diagnostics report? (including a reference to this topic). Thanks!Flag 0

I notice a .285 version up so I skipped .284 and went right to the latest - confirmed the issue is fixed here.
