Helper not connecting in Firefox
Same problem here.
After each new and re-start of Firefox I have to type the master password.
Configuration as you described above. (It doesn't make a difference whether Enable Universal Unlock is checked or not.)
Additionally: Helper problem (red exclamation mark in the extension window) after each start/re-start of Firefox, mostly also after booting the computer and then starting Firefox. Closing Firefox, restarting Helper process and then Firefox solves this problem - till the next start of Firefox. This is even more annoying than the password problem.
And right now the Helper problem occurs while Firefox is still running!
(Are these problems connected or shall I open a new thread with the Helper problem?)
Windows XP SP3
Firefox 11.0
1P 1.0.9.287
Firefox-extension 3.9.0
I was very satisfied with 1P just using auto-save and auto-login. Just 1P with a simple Firefox add-on (convenient with folders and thumbnails), no Helper or whatever. And now this ... <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_no.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='(n)' /> <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_angry.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':@' />
You provided together with the "Helper" a Troubleshooting page! I am afraid it is rather a "Problem" with a Troublemaking page.
You probably had a lot of work to accomplish this (step back), I have a lot of work with the results. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_time.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='(o)' /> <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_brokenheart.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='(u)' />
That is a pity and definitely not what I expected after using and accompanying 1P since the beta phase.

I'm terribly sorry that you are having some trouble, bege, and I really appreciate your longtime support of 1Password. The recent extension update for Firefox 11 has fundamentally changed the way it connects to the main 1Password application, and some users have software installed which blocks the secure connection we now use.
I believe that once we resolve the problem with the Helper's connection to the browser extension, Universal Unlock will also begin working for you.
To help us track down the issue more quickly, could you please email us your Diagnostics Report? If you have an email client installed, you can send the report more easily by selecting Help > Diagnostics Report > E-mail to Agile. If you don't have a desktop email client, you can select Help > Diagnostics Report > Export to File. Then open your webmail, create a new message to support AT agilebits.com, and just upload the exported file as an attachment to that message.
Please include a link to this thread in your email message so that we can "connect the dots."
We will reply as soon as possible.Flag 0 -
Thank you.
So far I can tell that the helper connecting problem an the necessity to repeatedly enter the password either happen together or none of them happens. (See this thread http://forum.agilebits.com/index.php?/topic/10188-auto-locking-and-unlocking/page__pid__58699 )
