How to update a password in an existing Login item

Hello,

I am new to the forum and not exactly sure if this topic already has been discussed. I have searched the forum but could not find a topic adressing my issue so I started a new one.

I am in the middle of updating a few passwords for a few accounts in the internet. When I change the login information in the Firefox extension it does not send the updates to my Windows application. I have to change the passwords manually in the Windows software as well. Is there a reason why it does not update automatically or am I doing s'thing wrong?

Another question not related to the topic:

Are there plans for updating the UI of the Windows application since it looks very very outdated and boring in comparison with the Mac version of the software?

Many thanks for your answers in advance.

    Welcome to the forums, Johnny!

The ability to automatically update a Login when you change your password is something we are working on bringing back to the 1Password extension (all browsers). Until that feature arrives, here is a simple workaround that you can use completely from the browser extension—no need to open the 1Password app:

Streamlining this process and bringing back the Login password auto-update feature is a top priority for us right now. We appreciate your patience as we work on it.

As for updating the look of 1Password for Windows, please see the User Guide:

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with!

    Cheers,
  • Thank you for your help. I am working around this issue with these tips and hope the feature will be back soon.

Thanks for the guide, I thought I was going crazy because auto update was working in the past and now it creates new logins when I update my password on sites instead of updating it.

Hopefully this feature will be back soon, lots of steps involved in updating passwords nowadays <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';-)' />

Agreed, Mr. Rabbit. You can replace a Login item using the action ("gear") button in the autosave bar, but that will replace the entire Login item rather than just updating the password.

    We're working to improve this.
