1Password (Mac or Windows) and Google Drive

Hi all,

I'm currently using both Mac and Windows versions of 1password. I have a question about cloud services such as google drive. Technically speaking, is it ok to sync my 1password meta-file with my google drive? From a sync perspective, does it increase likelihood for a corrupted file? More so, then dropbox?

I prefer to use google drive instead of dropbox, so I'm just wondering if I should have any concerns using google drive to sync my 1password file across computers.

    Welcome to the forums, harrington! You should be fine using Google Drive. We haven't tested it as thoroughly but 1Password makes a daily backup of your data, and we recommend you have an offsite backup as well regardless of what sync solution you choose. The only thing is that only Dropbox is supported for syncing with mobile devices. If you only need to sync with Mac and Windows, you should be fine. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

  • khad;

    I just bought 1Password for Windows, and I would like to use Google Drive for my sync. Could you post or PM me a step by step on how to do this? I have been looking around but I can't find how to do this.

    Thanks!

    Welcome to the forums, tribalplague!

    As mentioned above, Google Drive is not suitable for syncing with 1Password on mobile devices, but you should be able to use it for syncing data between 1Password for Windows on different PCs. It is unsupported, but you just need to move your 1Password.agilekeychain data folder to your Google Drive folder. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
