Error reporting in 1PasswordPro

Hi



Quick question.



1Password recently crashed on my iPad. When it did and I reopened the app it requested to send an error report to agilebits.



Can you advise what information is collected and sent when such an event occurs (is there any way to view/preview it) and how can I be reassured that no personal information is sent especially since I was in the middle of entering a new login.

It is great that you are thinking about these things. No data that you enter in 1Password is [b]ever[/b] transmitted to AgileBits — in a crash report or otherwise. Additionally, no data you enter is ever transmitted unencrypted to your own Dropbox account if you are using Dropbox to sync your data. I know it isn't exactly what you were asking, but if you are interested in the security of storing your 1Password data in the cloud, please see our document here:

If you are curious to see a crash report, the crash reports are stored on your iPhone or iPod touch at the time of the crash. When you sync your device with iTunes, the reports are copied to your computer to the following folder:



If you are using a [b]Mac[/b]:

<YOUR HOME FOLDER>/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<DEVICE NAME>



If you are running [b]Windows XP[/b]:

C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\<DEVICE NAME>



If you are running [b]Windows Vista[/b]:

C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\<DEVICE NAME>



The file name(s) will start with "1Password…" and contain a date stamp.

Thanks for the quick response!



As a btw with regard to cloud services, I don't use DropBox and would probably only use something like iCloud for syncing if it appears in a future version of 1Password.



Like the app (though look forward to it implementing a 'vault' rather then the lock box) as this particular issue concerns me that some of my data is unencrypted esp things like notes and web addresses.

All data is encrypted. Only [i]metadata[/i] is stored in plain text (just like Apple's OS X keychain).
