I have somehow disabled my knox vaults
I was using a duplicate file remover in the documents folder and after I removed the duplicate files -- which I thought were only text/photo files -- none of my knox vaults will open when I type in the password. I get an "invalid password" response. I think I have somehow erased some files that my pass words would use to open the vaults. I have tried accessing the vaults through knox and by clicking the vaults in the knox director using finder to no avail.
Unfortunately, I emptied the trash. I have a disc recovery program that has identified some thousands of files I can recover.
If you think I in advertently erased some critical knox files, can you tell me what they would look like so I can recover them?
Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

Welcome to the forums, Duckwump! Thanks for taking the time to contact us. I'm sorry that you are having this problem.
It doesn't sound very likely, but you may have deleted parts of your encrypted data.
If that is the case, will need to recover from a backup. If you were using Knox to create backups, you can select "Restore" from the Knox menu.
If not, you will need to restore from whatever backup solution you use (i.e. Time Machine, Carbonite, SuperDuper!, Carbon Copy Cloner, etc.).
Please let me know how it goes.Flag 0 -
Yep. That should to the trick. Backups are always important. I'm glad you had them "at the ready." <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
