encryptionKeys.js - unable to load, need to open locally with a browser

Greetings,

This problem is very similar to [solved] A problem occurred when loading encryptionKeys.js. The difference is that I need to be able to open 1Password locally via a browser without a connection to dropbox. For example, I need access to Accounts for a shared network key before I have an internet connection.

Thanks and best regards,

Richard

Welcome to the forums, Richard. I'm not familiar enough with Firefox's recent implementation of this limitation to know if there is a similar workaround there, but Chrome has a command line switch you can use to force loading of local web apps. I mentioned this in the aforelinked topic, and it is listed on the Troubleshooting 1PasswordAnywhere page. Safari has no such limitation.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

    Cheers,
  • Greetings Khad,

The problem is that when I install on linux box the only browser available is Firefox. I can download the other browsers after I've connected to a network, but not before. So, I need a solution using just Firefox.

    Best regards,

    Richard

I don't know of any command line switch to force the loading of local web apps in Firefox as is possible in Chrome. You might consider including Chrome in your distro build instead of or in addition to Firefox.

I'm sorry I don't have a better solution than using another browser or a network connection. This is a change that Mozilla recently made. You could try opening a bug on Bugzilla, but they have made the change for security reasons. I would be surprised if they went back on it. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_worried.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':S' />
