Helper not connected in Firefox
Hello. I have been using Chrome for several years and 1password has worked very well for me. I've been having nightmarish problems with Chrome and I finally gave up and went back to Foxfire a few days ago. I can't get 1password to work. I, too, have the red exclamation box and the 1password is not working within the foxfire browser.
I am running Windows 7. My Foxfire build is: 14.0.1. My 1password build is: 1.0.9 BETA-298.
I have gone through the support areas and followed the instructions there, and have also gone through the instructions here (am I the only one that doesn't have a "Open Containing Folder" button?), and nothing is working.
Please advise.
Addtionally, I have just purchased 2 Android Tablets: The first one is the Galaxy Nexus 7 running Jellybean and the second is a Sony Tablet S running either Gingerbread or Ice Cream Sandwhich. 1password is on both tablets, but is missing about 1/2 of the logins.
Thanks!

Hi EquiPro,
Sorry to hear that you are having some trouble with Firefox. It sounds like you just need to remove the extension along with the SQLite file as you attempted earlier. If you weren't able to locate the file and remove it, then the removal was not complete. I'm guess that should do the trick. Other browsers handle the removal of the SQLite file automatically, but you will need to do this manually for Firefox:
1. Open Firefox.
2. Remove the 1Password extension.
3. Enter about:support in the address bar and press Return.
4. Click the "Open Containing Folder" button.
5. Quit Firefox.
6. In the Explorer window that opened, go up one level in the file hierarchy.
7. Move the OnePassword.sqlite to your desktop.
Then reinstall the Firefox extension from 1Password for Windows' preferences on the Browsers tab.
Once everything is working well, you can safely move the OnePassword.sqlite file on the desktop to the trash.
If you are having trouble finding the "Open Containing Folder" button, you might find this guide with screenshots to be helpful:

If you're still having trouble, could you please post a screenshot of what you are seeing when you enter about:support into the address bar? The "Open Containing Folder" button should definitely be there.Flag 0 -
Hi. Thanks for your prompt reply. I have followed your instructions - TWICE - and 1password still isn't working at all. I took a screenshot as requested, but it's on my desktop - not sure how to embed it since your image button asks for a url. Anyway, it looks the same except, for some reason, my computer says "Show Folder" instead of "Open Containing Folder", but once I saw your graphic, I figured it out. You might want to change your instructions to cover both possibilities, so that we literalists don't get bogged down. I have also restarted the helper, etc.
I'm not sure what to do. I have LastPass pro and Roboform, but I haven't used either of those in so long (I prefer 1 password) that it's going to be difficult to change back over.Flag 0 -
OK, so it's working. I removed Foxfire (twice actually), reset foxfire to defaults, then did the sequence as you instructed again. There are two identities on my foxfire, one is "default" and the other is "default-xxxxxxxx(misc numbers)". I did the 1password installation for both identities. When I installed it on "default", there was a problem with Foxfire giving me a "script has stopped running" which had 1password in it. I took a screen shot of that error message and if I could attach it, you could see it. I then did all of your steps and installed 1password to the "default-xxxxx" identity and it is now working. I'm not sure what helped or how it was resolved, but I'm happy.Flag 0

I apologize for the confusion, EquiPro. It looks like Mozilla has changed the label of the button in the latest version of Firefox. I'll make sure to note that when I provide the instructions for others. Thank you for pointing this out! <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
If you only got that error you mentioned once I wouldn't worry about it. If it recurs, please do post the screenshot and let me know what you are doing when it happens. You can attach a screenshot by clicking the "More Reply Options" button and then "Choose File" and "Attach This File" before adding your reply.
Alternatively you can email it to us at support AT agilebits.com if that is more convenient for you. If you email it, please be sure to include a link to this thread in your email so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your message in our inbox.
Thanks!Flag 0 -
Hi, Khad. Today 1password seems to be working on my Mozilla BUT the red exclamation mark is still showing. I haven't tried it on my tablets yet, but will probably get there today.
Here is the error message that I got yesterday, just fyi.
Also, during one of the several attempts to follow your directions, there was this odd "journal" file. I'm attaching a screen shot of that as well. It seemed to just disappear at some point.
I have been having a similar problem on my android phone (not getting all of the logins)...should I post this in a different forum?
Thanks again.Flag 0 -
To help us track down the issue more quickly, could you please send us your Diagnostics Report? Select Help > Diagnostics Report > Export to File from the menu bar in 1Password. Then attach the report to an email to support AT agilebits.com and please include a link to this thread.
Once we see your report via email we should be able to help more. Thanks in advance!Flag 0
