Newbie. Getting Errors when starting Firefox

Hi,

I'm just trying to set up 1Password on my home and work PCs. Both using firefox 15.0 as the browser, with the files on DropBox. DropBox needs a proxy for work, buit seems to work.

Everything appears to work, but the passwords I'm seeing at work are not the same as I am setting at home, as though the file in Dropbox is not up to date.

When I start Firefox on my work PC I get the following errors - what does this mean?

    Welcome to the forums, Dud!

Are you saying that the data in the main 1Password application does not match between your two machines?

Or is the discrepancy only between the main app and the Firefox extension on the same machine?
  • Hi,

Yes, the data does not match between the 2 machines.

Everything seems fine on my home machine. But when at work, I start firefox and get errors, but everything then seems fine, but the usernames and passwords in both the firefox addon and the iPassword application don't seem to be upto date with the home machine. I'd need to check this at home to be 100% sure though/

Are these errors ipassword errors, or dropbox errors?

    cheers

It sounds like Dropbox is not syncing the data then. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

What is the path listed in 1Password's preferences to your 1Password data on each PC? If you drop an image or other file in your Dropbox folder does it sync between the machines? Also, be sure that you have not selectively disabled the syncing of the folder containing your 1Password data:

    https://www.dropbox.com/help/175/en

The errors you posted above are essentially harmless Firefox errors tangentially related to 1Password but not related to Dropbox at all.

Let's get the data syncing between the machines and accessible via the main 1Password app before we even start to worry about the browsers as the data in the browsers comes from the main app. (It's like wiping off the counters before you clean the floor. If we clean the floor first, it will just get dirty again when we wipe off the counters.) <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
