Purchased from Mac App Store but it says 3.8.20 and won't license
I used 1Password for the sync with the iPhone. I purchased the iPhone app and have been using it for months. I have a recentish MacBook Pro (last year or so) and am running today's Mountain Lion update (10.8.2).
Since installing Mountain Lion when it came out, the desktop version insists I have no license for the desktop version, which it states is version 3.8.2 when I check the menu. I checked with the Mac Store - it says I purchased a license. Also, don't they only sell 3.9?!?
I tried trashing the app and having the Mac Store reinstall, but I got the same results: 3.8.2, no license.
Color me perplexed. How can I fix this?
Photo is just-now screening of "About 1Password".

Of course now I found the problem... Mtn Lion somehow found an old trialware version of the app and insisted it was the default install; thus when I trashed and reinstalled, it continued to use the old trialware version.
Well, I guess someone somewhere might find use for my stupidity?Flag 0 -
Welcome to the forums, Ng! You're not the only person to run into this problem, so don't feel bad. Apple doesn't allow Mac App Store apps to remove old or trial versions upon installation, so if you don't actually remove 1Password 3.8 before installing 3.9 from the Mac App Store, you will end up with two copies of the app which can lead to confusion.
We try to make this clear in the App Store description as SUPPORT NOTE #1, but there isn't a way to make it more prominent for folks — like myself even — who don't normally read the [full] description. We also have a support article on this as well:

Anyway, I'm glad that everything is working well for you now. If we can ever be of further assistance, please let us know. We are always here to help! <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />Flag 0
