Unable to access data with 1P Anywhere
Hi Agilebits,
When I open the HTML file in my Dropbox keychain folder, I get 'A problem occurred when loading the "file:///C:/Users/Shawn/Dropbox/1Password.agilekeychain/data/default/encryptionKeys.js" file.' Further, when I enter my master password in the window, there is a 'Problkem loading 1Password data file' error. Clicking on the key data file link in the error message yields a string of random chracters, which I will post if you would like.
Also, is 1P ready for Windows 8?
Using Firefox 15.01 on Windows 7
Thanks
-Shawn

Hey Shawn,
As specified in the User Guide, Firefox and Chrome will not load 1PasswordAnywhere from a local file. You'll need to load 1PasswordAnywhere from the Dropbox website rather than from the Dropbox file on your hard drive. The path needs to begin with https:// rather than file:/// for it to work in Firefox or Chrome.
More from the "1PasswordAnywhere" and "Troubleshooting 1PasswordAnywhere" sections in the User Guide

1PasswordAnywhere requires a modern browser. Internet Explorer is not supported.

Starting with version 13, Firefox tightened its security on opening local files. As result, Firefox will no longer load 1PasswordAnywhere from the local file system. You can still access 1PasswordAnywhere via the Dropbox website, however.

File attachments are not currently available within 1PasswordAnywhere.

If you are using Google Chrome you cannot use 1PasswordAnywhere in “local file mode”, i.e. you cannot use a local file URL like file:///Users/dave/1Password.agilekeychain/1Password.html. Accessing 1PasswordAnywhere in this way will fail because Chrome will prevent it from loading any of its files. This limitation is because Chrome prevents web applications from running in this way; see the Local files doesn’t load with Ajax bug report for details. The easiest way to workaround this is to store your 1Password.agilekeychain file on a web server or service like Dropbox. If you need offline access to 1PasswordAnywhere you will need to use another browser or modify Chrome’s settings by adding this command line option (note the two dashes at the beginning): --allow-file-access-from-files

1Password for Windows works great in Windows 8, but I think there are some issues with Internet Explorer 10. If are using Chrome, Firefox, or Safari, you should be fine. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

I'm having some trouble with 1P anywhere as well--when i click on the HTML file from my dropbox, i just get a blank page. I can see the URL, which looks like:
https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/.../...../1Password.agilekeychain/1Password.html?w=xxxxxxxx (where the x's are a random-looking alphanumeric string). the title bar says 1Password, but the page itself is blank.
This happens in both firefox and Chrome (both up to date, as is 1P) and also in firefox with all extensions disabled. the other perplexing thing is that the HTML file itself says it has not been modified since 9/22/2009.
It's been a long time since i tried to use this feature, but i'd like to start again, so any assistance would be great.

1. Delete the 1Password.html file from your Dropbox folder in Windows Explorer.
2. Wait for Dropbox to finish syncing.
3. Regenerate the 1Password.html file by choosing File > Repair 1Password Data from the menu bar.
4. Wait for Dropbox to finish syncing.
5. Try 1PasswordAnywhere again.Flag 0
