Welcome to the forums, PBehne! Thanks for taking the time to contact us. I'm sorry that you are having some trouble.
I am not able to reproduce this problem at all when using 1Password in Windows 7 64-bit. Is there any chance that you have somehow set 1Password to run in Compatibility mode? I don't think that should give the error you describe, but it's the only thing I can think of offhand.

Could you post a screenshot of the exact error message?
Try downloading a fresh copy of 1Password and install it again:
