Control+\ not working despite
Have tried this: see A: notes. Using win7 64; IE9
If control - \ keystroke isn’t working, please try the following:
1. On the Browsers tab of 1Password preferences, make sure the extension for your browser is enabled.
A: yes
2. On the Logins tab of 1Password preferences, make sure Ctrl+\ is still defined as the shortcut.
A: yes
3. In the Windows Internet Options control panel, choose the Programs tab, click the Manage add-ons button, and (in the list of toolbars and extensions) make sure 1Password is enabled.
A: neither of these add on files appear in the list of add ins under the programs tab for Windows control panel Internet Explorer.
I have no idea why not and do not know how to get them back.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the 1Password program and the problem is not corrected. The control plus \ stroke has worked before in my IE9 until recently, now not sure what has changed. I have used AVG Tune Up to clean up broken or unused registry entries and clean up the disk.
4. In the Windows Internet Options control panel, choose the Advanced tab, scroll down to Browsing, and make sure the Enable third-party browser extensions option is enabled.
A: Yes
If that doesn’t help, make sure the extension is enabled within the browser, as well:
list of 4 items
• Internet Explorer (32-bit): In Internet Explorer, choose Tools > Manage Add-Ons; under Add-on Types, select Toolbars and Extensions; confirm that both 1Password and 1Password Ctrl+\ are listed and that both show “Enabled” in the Status column.
A: yes, the two entries do appear here as addins within IE9, but as noted, not within control panel internet options.
Can you assist?

Welcome to the forums, Bill! Thanks for taking the time to contact us.
Please try restarting the 1Password Helper from within the main 1Password for Windows application. Select Help > Restart 1Password Helper from the menu bar.
If you're still having trouble, could you please send us your Diagnostics Report? Select Help > Diagnostics Report > Export to File from the menu bar in 1Password. Then attach the report to an email to us:

It sounds like you're running 1Password in IE. In that case, restarting the 1Password agent/helper has no effect; it is supporting Chrome, Firefox and Safari (not IE).
My advice is to go into Preferences window, click on the Browsers tab, then uncheck (un-install) IE. Click OK. Then repeat this procedure but this time you'll check (install) IE.
This procedure will re-install our extension for IE.Flag 0 -
I had the same problem with Safari for Windows immediately after updating my 1Password program to version 3.9.4. Khad's advice to:
"Please try restarting the 1Password Helper from within the main 1Password for Windows application. Select Help > Restart 1Password Helper from the menu bar."
resolved my problem.

Welcome to the forums, rhellyer! Thanks for letting me know that worked for you as well. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
Restarting the helper is one of the first steps in the main troubleshooting document:
http://help.agilebits.com/1Password_Windows/helper-not-connected.html
But I'll see about repeating it in the specific section you linked to as well.
