Hi Bertrand,

Huge thanks. Because those texts have been recently changed in the last update, we hadn't had a chance to translate them just yet because we're still playing with it. Expect the translations to lag the changes by a few updates.

    Thanks again!
  • You are so welcome, if you have more please email them Bertrand22@me.com, it would be a pleasure for me! <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
  • I corrected the mistakes.

    From up to down

Une fois activé, une icône unique sera telechargée et affichée pour chacun de vos identifiants.

    Autoriser le Mode Démo

Une fois activé, vous pouvez déverrouiller l'application en mode démonstration en entrant « demo » comme mot de passe maître. Dans ce mode seules des données de démonstration sont affichées.

Le mode démo est utile quand vous devez montrer à quelqu'un comment fonctionne 1Password.

    Effacer les données.

    Hi So6,

    Thanks, we appreciate it!
  • In Settings>Security the name of the first button (changing the main password) is a bit too long and therefore the last letter comes very close to the arrow which is not really esthetically pleasing. Maybe it should be shortened.

Also I don't understand why "Code de déverrouillage" is truncated as "…" takes more space than "e".

I completely agree. On the same capture, Automatique should not be capitalized. Vider le presse papier is usually Purger le press-papier, but it's not super critical.

Since we're on the topic of the French localization, I noticed a few more things:

On this capture, the items with a count of 1 should not be plural.

Licences du logiciel should be Licences de logiciels.

On the top of this capture, the text is too close from the switch.

Some text is not localized and instead of Effacer, réinitialiser would make more sense (again, not super-critical, but far more usual in this context IMVVVHO).

On this last capture, Journaux should be Historiques. That's the technical term. Journaux is a direct translation, but not an "industry term".

    That's all I noticed so far <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/emoticon-0128-hi.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='(hi)' />

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the suggestions and screenshots. We haven't yet received the second round of updated translations from our translation service. We've changed a lot in the past weeks, so they're still trying to catch up with us and getting it updated as soon as they can.

I've added your suggestions to our list and we'll improve it as soon as possible. We plan to make it possible to ask you guys to help us fix this in the near future with a bigger translation project.

    Thanks again!

I just want to mention that I've merged this topic with another topic that had more suggestions for the French translation.
  • I'd also find shorter and a better term in place of

    "[s]Dissimuler[/s] mots de passe"

    "Cacher mots de passe"

    In Settings>Security

And as we are there, I agree with Pihrra that you should try to shorten the "Change main password" from

    "Modifier [s]le[/s] mot de passe"

    to

    "Modifier mot de passe"

    "[s]Dissimuler[/s] mots de passe"

    "Cacher mots de passe"
“Cacher” sounds a bit odd to me, what about “Masquer”?
  • Agree "Masquer" is a better one

    Hi guys,

Thanks again for working together to find words that fits better based on the context. It's very difficult to do this but with your help, we can get it done.

We've finished that translations project that I mentioned, now we're asking you guys to help us improve the French translations better. You'll be able to see all strings and missing ones that haven't been translated yet.

Please join our project here: http://forum.agilebits.com/index.php?/topic/11151-help-us-translate-1password/

Thanks and please let me know if there's anything I can do to help or if you're having any issues.

I agree but have to make it short to avoid word wrapping with this string. We can try "Masquer" and if it don't fit use "Cacher".

Add the shorter terms if it make sense and we'll release a build with the updated translations to see how it turns out.

Thanks again for your help, guys!

I was exploring the latest beta today and noticed another category that seems to have a few issues. the Outdoor License translation doesn't make much sense to me (and the title is not ram magically correct). It says Nouveau Licence extérieure

I suspect it should be something like Chasse & pêche, or Permis de Chasse ou pêche

It could be a problem if it's also supposed to work for camping permits, but I can't find a term in French that properly covers Outdoor and the areas covered here (including hunting and fishing - maybe Chasse, pêche, camping ?). If anything, the current wording really doesn't make any sense IMVHO.

    Hi guys,

We've switched over to Crowdin service for the translations, the updated information is here: http://forum.agilebits.com/index.php?/topic/11151-help-us-translate-1password/

From Crowdin, you'll be able to comment on the strings directly there, so there's no need to visit the forums to ask questions and offer suggestions with. In addition, there are no locks to work with and we can upload screenshots there to provide better context for some of the confusing strings.

@Corentin, try to add your comments on the "Outdoor license" string and hopefully, we can find a better solution there.

    Thanks!
