[Feedback] 4.0b22 first minutes of use
Hey everyone, hey AgileBits team,
I've only used the 1Password beta (4.0b22 on iPhone 5 iOS 6.0.1, English) for a few minutes but there's already some initial feedback:

The setup process is flawless. I used Dropbox to access my data—sending over the access request to the Dropbox app is fast and seamless. Compared to 1Password 3, this is a great improvement.

I haven't used iCloud yet to access my data and will try this out with some fresh logins later. I appreciate the option.

I am syncing 1282 items, this took less than 2 minutes to sync (on Wi-Fi.)

The interface is extremely polished and easy to navigate around. Consolidation of accounts and logins makes sense, adding favorites is great for mobile usage and I generally like the look.

Many settings have been removed that people didn't really need—like having the option to save the Dropbox password inside of 1Password (who wouldn't do that anyway), I guess this is redundant now that Dropbox authorization is different. Having separate Master Passwords for mobile and desktop apps also was very confusing to users I suppose. Having a Master Password and an additional quick unlock code seems great.
Feature wishes

In-app explanation of what the quick unlock code does exactly. Is it only there to allow app access while the auto-lock timer is running or will it always allow access to all data with 4 digits?

I'm German and the European banking system has a higher focus on direct debit cards (Maestro and V PAY). Those are used to purchases in stores more widely than credit cards. I would appreciate an option for these cards natively, even though someone could "fake" them into the credit card category. I will have more thorough feedback on this once I tried the new 1Password in German in the coming days.
Thanks for now. Great work. Happy to be testing.
Toby

Hi Toby,
Thanks for your detailed feedback, I'm glad you like all the changes we made!
1. Referring to Unlock code, we plan to expand more in-line help text like we did in Settings > Advanced, we're trying to find a balance where it's just enough to be helpful but not also clutter up everything that users have to scroll. We do plan to release a detailed user manual to explain everything. To answer your question: It depends on the "Lock on Exit" feature. If you have it on, the quick unlock code is used each time you switch away from 1Password and when the auto-lock timer kicks in. If it is turned off, the unlock code is used when the auto-lock kicks in. Note that, you can only enter it once, if it was wrong, it automatically reverts to the master password. So, you can't brute force this.
2. In credit card items, we have a type for "Maestro" that you can select but it's not implemented yet in the iOS app. On Mac and Windows apps, you can select this. I'm not sure if "V Pay" is there, we'll look into it.
Unfortunately, there isn't a generic term to explain both debit and credit cards, so that you can specify a type to show which card it is. As the result, we defaulted as credit cards as a generic name since you can use debit card as a credit card in many areas.
In addition, this category is specifically used for the browser to fill in your data in when you need it. To add a separate category for debit cards would complicate this in many areas for users and the apps. So, we're not likely to add a separate one but we'll keep working on making credit card category more generic and letting you specify the type instead.
