A quick summary of the bug:

sort order of items different (and WORSE) to version3

Detailed Step-by-step instruction on how to reproduce it:

in version 3 the German "Umlaute" loke Ä, Ö and Ü are directly behind the corresponding letter (e.g. L, M, N, O, Ö, P, .... Z,

in version4 it is A, B, .... Z, Ö, #

I really would prefer the old sorting syntax like it was in version 3 ... German speaking guys, what do YOU think? do you agree with me?

Good point.. I'm actually not sure about this though. I think I prefer the new way of sorting with Umlauts at the end. Umlauts are not part of the alphabet, so it's only logical if they are considered as special characters.

I don't currently have Umlauts (Ä, Ö, Ü) as titles, but I believe it would confuse me if they appear in the regular alphabet on the right side. So I tend to disagree. But I'm interested in other opinions as well, I'm not 100% sure.

well in my case it's the federal railway (ÖBB) and I really dislike to search it AFTER "Z" because also the official URL is "oebb.at" which is much closer to "O" then "Z" <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
  • You could save it as OEBB, like the URL, that wouldn't be wrong. It's not ideal for you though, I know. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

    Hi guys,

I do apologize about this. We didn't change it for German, we changed the default sorting for 1Password to match with Apple and the desktop app, which is letters first and then numbers.

That also have an unfortunate side effect of shifting the international locales as well, like what you just saw.

For consistency reasons, we're not going to change the sorting in order to keep it consistent across all platforms. So what you see in 1Password 4, would be the same as in the desktop apps and other platforms.

Again, I apologize for the inconvenience but hopefully, you'd be able to adjust to this quickly.
