Is this bug reproducible?

Yes

Which devices did this bug appear on and is it reproducible on any devices?

iPhone 5 with iOS 6.0.1

A quick summary of the bug

Detailed Step-by-step instruction on how to reproduce it

Enable File Sharing syncing and then tap the Logs button before the syncing has completed. If you tap to "All" the sync date will show as "42 years ago" (1970). This happens for every sync in progress with File Sharing. The date doesn't change to the right one before you tap Done and then re-enter the logs view.

I haven't been able to test whether this also happens with the other syncing methods.

Edit: Title should have been "File Sharing sync shows sync date as 1970 for syncs in progress"

    Hi Kristoff,

Just to be clear, if you attempt the sync and wait until it is done before viewing the sync logs, does the date show up correctly?.

iTunes File Sharing does a full sync each time, so it doesn't exactly do partial sync like others. So, that's why you may see the default date repeating each time you sync again.

In addition, this may be intentional as the sync logs may not be updated until the sync is finished first, which is longer because of the full data file sync.

Please let me know if I'm understanding you correctly here.

    Thanks!
  • Yes, if you wait for the sync to show the "Last synced x seconds ago" it will show up correctly in the log.

    Hi,

Thanks for confirming. I believe this is intentional due to how iTunes File Sharing works, I don't think there's a way around this as you do have to wait for the sync to finish. I'll bring it up with the devs and if we can improve it, we'll do it.

Thanks again for writing this report up!
