Can we get a search bar at the top of the category section even if its hidden by default and you have to pull down slightly to see it.

Today I found myself not knowing where an item was and I had to search a bunch of categories. I eventually just pulled out my Mac from my backpack and located it that way. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

    Hi Tommy,

I'm not sure what you're asking. If you want to search all items, just select "All Items" category first and pull down to get the search field, so it's there. We'll look into making it persistent on the iPad and 4" devices.

I don't think it's possible to specifically add it to the categories list instead of being forced to tap on "All Items" first but I'll ask.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

    No its all good,

I was being stupy and wasn't really noticing that the "all items" was a place holder. My brain interpreted it as just text. I was not looking for moving into an all items section. Even with the arrow there. My brain just didn't see it as clickable etc I understand it being there now. But its not intuitive. Now that I am aware of it being there all is good.

Having said that I would suggest some kind of icon for it. I think the brain looks at it quickly and since it doesn't see an icon, like all the other areas its way to easy to skim over and others may be like me and interpret it as text.

We had a discussion during the 1Pv3 for Mac on how the brain sees symbols and colors quicker than text.

I dont have an idea of what type of icon. Its just an idea. What about some mini icons of the categories. under it or after the text. Something needs to be there IMHO.

Has anyone else or was it just me who overlooked this ?

What about the actual 1P icon, or maybe a binocular icon or something like that.

Binocular's are generally used for looking for something ???? Or maybe a magnifying glass to stay with the Mac themes like spotlight etc.

It could even be located on the right hand side like spotlight. It gets the mind to see the icon like in my statements above etc

    What do you guys think?

    Hi Tommy,

I understand, I also agree with the concept that symbols and colors are quicker for people to react than pure text. That's why you often see colored signs and traffic lights instead of "Go", "Slow Down" or "STOP!".

I'll ask that we find an icon for "All Items".

    Thanks!
