Issues with the Spanish translation

Well, first of all, I'm sorry I didn't report these earlier, but I just have my phone set for English all the time and just remembered to change it to Spanish for a while to check out 1P4 for bugs and stuff.
Not sure if you want me to include screenshots of what I'm describing, or only for me to tell you where the issue is. If you need them let me know so I can take/attach them.
Before I start the list, I just have a question for you. In English when you speak in second person it is always 'you', but in Spanish we have two versions of that, 'tu' y 'usted', each with little differences in the verbs and stuff. So I was wondering which one should we use for translations? 'Usted' is more formal [like when talking to the president or something], 'tu' is informal, like when talking to friends. So let us know so we can translate appropriately.
1- I noticed how the master password is still referred to as 'contraseña principal', and I thought you'd said it'd be changed to 'contraseña maestra'
2- In Settings→Help→Quick Tour, I found a few different issues:
a- In the first card, I'm not sure 'Pasa para empezar' is the best translation to use, maybe we can get some suggestions on that

b- Second card, the white shadow on the title [Tipos de elementos] has for some reason a few pixels too many vs the usual shadows around the app

c- Second card, 'Inicia sesión en sitios web con un grifo' the bold part just makes no sense, again, we could get some suggestions here

d- Second card as well, 'Llenar rápidamente el' seems to be incomplete

e- Last for the second card, 'and more!' isn't translated to 'y más!'

f- Third card, the paragraph on top could use some rewriting of the translation

g- The paragraph for 'Categorías' isn't translated

h- The last paragraph is incomplete

i- Fourth card, first paragraph isn't translated, the bold title and last paragraph are incomplete

j- Last card, 'bloqueo automático' has the same drop shadow issue I mentioned in 2b

k- The line above 'bloque automático' feels kinda weird to me, specially because of the different format of the text, not sure what could fix it, some suggestions here too?
3- In Settings→Advanced there are a few missing translations
4- In Categories, every category name is in plural except for 'tarjeta de crédito', should be 'tarjetas de crédito'
5- In Categories→All Items [Categorías→Todos los artículos], I think you could change the title on that section [once you're inside] to be just 'Todos' so that it fits correctly on the top bar, but still sends you the same message, so you still understand what it says.
I think that's it, but if anyone else has anything to add you can comment below, or if I notice anything else, I'll add it here.
Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you guys out!

Thanks for the extensive feedback, manolosavi! I haven't looked at how things has been translated so far, but I think all of our English communication is always informal, so I would expect "tu" rather than "usted" would be preferable. (German has "du" und "Sie", and there as well I think we would prefer "du".)
I'd love to have you jump in and actually help with the translation directly. Please read the post pinned to the top of this forum to get started:
http://forum.agilebits.com/index.php?/topic/11151-help-us-translate-1password/
There are also discussions on Crowdin, so that is probably the best place for discussions related to the translations. Let me know if you have any other questions!Flag 0 -
@khad yes, I'd already used that page to suggest some translations, but after a bit I realized that there was no consistency with what I mentioned about tu vs usted so I thought it'd be better if I waited to see what your thoughts on that were. I'll check it again and try to correct all the mistakes I see there!Flag 0

@manolosavi I personally have been doing them for usted, as my experience has been that the difference between in formallity between tu and usted varies between spanish speaking countries. If we are looking for informal though, I will work with you help make those changes.
I agree that Pasa para empezar is not the best, currently though the newest version uses the better, in my opinion, desliza para iniciar which I think is better. I'd love to discuss it with you and see what we think is best.
Agreed on the spacing issues. It's not just the second slide. 1Password in quick tour is in the header. The slide dots are in the slides. See photo:

Also issues with shadows on the security panel (slide 5) the shadow for Bloqueo automático (block automatically) is lower than other areas and seems strange.Flag 0 -
@kkirsche Well I already went through the whole list and changed them all to 'tu', but I think they have to be voted up to be chosen as the top translation to use…
Yea, I like 'desliza' much better, I think that's the word to use.
Oh, I hadn't noticed that alignment issue! From the screenshot it seems like it's way worse on the 3.5" displays! Hopefully they'll see your screenshot and be able to fix it soon.Flag 0 -
Also, where are the translation lines for "Clear Clipboard" in Settings > Security and "Show Rich Icons" in Settings > Advanced. Neither of these are translated in the spanish translation.
EDIT: Found and put new translations in. Not sure if they'll fit but would love to seeFlag 0 -
