Dropbox syncing - no 1Password folder created in Dropbox
Hello,
New user here.
Recently purchased the updated 1Password app for my iPad, and was so impressed that I immediately bought my girlfriend a copy. The built-in browser with password fill-in allows me to finally use unique and secure passwords without relying on copy-and-paste. Hooray!
I am able to use iCloud syncing to exchange information between my iPhone and my iPad, but neither device is able to sync to Dropbox, an essential function if I'm going to use 1Password on my desktop. When I attempt to sync, the app loads up my Dropbox app and requests permission, but then I just get a red exclamation point on the dropbox icon in 1Password. If I check Dropbox from my PC, I can see 1Password is listed as an approved app, but no files were created.
Clicking on the exclamation point reveals the following error message: Failed to list data folder in Dropbox.
Help!

Welcome to the forums, Tsothoga! Thanks for taking the time to contact us. I'm sorry that you are having some trouble.
Please see this document and let me know if that helps:
http://learn.agilebits.com/1Password4/iOS/Sync/Dropbox/stuck-dropbox.html
You could also try setting up Dropbox syncing in 1Password on your desktop *first* and then retry it on your iOS device(s).
Let me know how it goes.Flag 0 -
Hey everyone. I am also a new user, and having this exact issue. I'm using version 4.0.3 in iOS 6.
I want to sync with Dropbox without having to install 1Password on a computer (this is supposed to be a standalone app right?). Neither of the cases in the recommended link apply to my situation.
I have tried removing and re-installing 1Password, but I am still getting the "failed to list data folder in dropbox" error on setting up dropbox sync.
I've already entered a bunch of password info into the app on my phone and so even if I installed the trial PC version, I would have no way to sync this and may have to start again.
Also is there any way to control where the 1Password data file is kept within my Dropbox folder? I would prefer not to have it in the root.

Having this exact same problem. Neither iPad or iPhone want to create the folder, and report an error with an exclamation mark next to the Dropbox icon. I keep going through the approval process to allow the app to talk to dropbox, but no luck.
I don't have the option to create the account using the desktop app I'm afraid, due to not having access to a desktop computer (who uses those anymore?)Flag 0 -
Welcome to the forums, folks! I'm sorry that you are also having some trouble.
In order to help us track down the issue more quickly, could you please email us your diagnostics from the 1Password 4 for iOS app? Within the app, tap: Settings > Advanced > Troubleshooting > Email Diagnostics.
Once we see your diagnostics we should be able to help more. Thanks in advance!Flag 0 -
I had the same problem when I installed the latest version on my iPhone 5. It scared me at first but I just repeated the process a second time and everything set up correctly. I did initially get that exclamation point with Dropbox but it was subsequently corrected. When I installed the app on my iPad ( 3 ) the issue did not occur.Flag 0
