1Password 3.8 (from AgileBits' website) is essentially identical to 1Password 3.9 (from the Mac App Store). They just have different version numbers for technical reasons.
One thing to keep in mind is that all Mac App Store copies of 1Password come with a free upgrade to 1Password 4 for Mac when it is available, so purchasing on the Mac App Store ends up being the best deal in the long run. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Does it mean that those of us who purchased directly from you won't benefit from the same discount? I bought it from you for two reasons: One, to get the bundle with Windows and two, because I prefer that the developer gets all funds for their hard work instead of funding Apple with 30% of your income. Please consider giving us the same discount as a token of your appreciation for us being loyal!Flag 0

The deal we have been making available for over a year now is that all [i][b]Mac App Store[/b][/i] copies of 1Password come with a free copy of 1Password 4 for Mac when it is available. The [url="http://forum.agilebits.com/index.php?/topic/9561-bundle-discount-for-1password-for-windows-mas/page__view__findpost__p__62671"]Windows license bundle discount is available even when purchasing on the Mac App Store[/url].
With that in mind, 1Password 4 for Mac is a paid upgrade. Either [pre-]buy now on MAS and get 1Password 3 in the meantime or wait until version 4 is released and purchase it then.
I can't promise anything specific, but no major release of 1Password has ever occurred without a generous sale to celebrate. I am using 3.8.
I bought 3.9 from the App Store, but have never installed it. I bought it largely for the free upgrade, I had reckoned that version 4 would not take as long as it has to appear, and that I was happy to give money to Agile in advance.
Ought I to install 3.9 before 4 comes out, or will the Install button for 1PW in the App Store automatically give me version 4 when it appears?Flag 0
