auto fill phone number

I tried to autofill a website and everything worked except the phone number. Each part of the number had its separate box on the website (so you had to tab btw the area code , first three, last four) 1Password put the whole phone number in the area code box and nothing in the other two. Is there a way to fix this, perhaps the phone number info could have 3 separate entries on 1 password and if the website doesnt require separate then they are posted together as one?

<<AreaCode>>

<<prefix>>

<<LastFour>>

If the website has separate boxes they are autofilled with appropriate entry, if not, 1Password give command to combine

<<AreaCode>>-<<prefix>>-<<LastFour>> in generic phone area.

Thanks

Welcome to the forums, Wolverine! Thanks for taking the time to contact us. I'm sorry that you are having some trouble.

1Password has no problem filling phone numbers even when they are broken up into separate fields as you describe. 1Password normally handles this automatically behind the scenes. It sounds like you're having trouble with a specific website, though. If you let me know what the URL is, I'd be happy to take a look. We may need to improve 1Password to handle it better in the future. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

    Thanks!

  • I tried to post a screenshot but it didn't quite work. Is there a special format I should enter my number in? I have entered it 123-456-7890

    Should that have worked?

Thanks! I see that the site using the following field names in its HTML code:

    ctl00$cphDefault$txtPhoneArea

    ctl00$cphDefault$txtPhonePrefix

    ctl00$cphDefault$txtPhoneSuffix

I'll pass this along to the developers so they can see how to best handle this. We appreciate your feedback! <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I often have problems with my phone number being put in the area code portion. This is probably due to my number not being in the right format in 1PW. What should it be?

Also, quite a few sites need the number to be inserted without spaces. Does that cause issues if 1PW entries have spaces in them?

Finally, note that London phone numbers have a three-digit are code, a FOUR-digit exchange, and a four-digit number.

The format in 1Password is irrelevant as 1Password parses just the digits. Let me know the URL where you are having trouble. I'd love to pass it along to the developers as well.
