Sync between Mac & iOS device: use symlink in Dropbox?

Instead of actually moving the 1Password.agilekeychain file on my Mac to the Dropbox folder there, so I can sync the Mac and iOS versions of 1Password, can I simply leave the file where it is and put a symlink to it in my Dropbox folder?

    Such a configuration is not supported. We do not recommend it. Please proceed at your own risk and make sure you have recent backups.



    If you are using 1Password 3.9 which adheres to Apple's application sandboxing guidelines it will simply be impossible. If the sandbox could be defeated with a symlink then malware would just use symlinks. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
