1Password 3.9.6 continually crashing in OSX Lion

Hi there,

Recently I've noticed that 1Password crashes every time I try to add a new account. It's extremely frustrating as I use this app all the time (as I'm sure most users do).

Problems I'm having include:

1) The "save login" feature doesn't pop up every time I visit a new site & enter brand new login details

2) When it does come up, I hit save and it doesn't save it (I'm syncing via dropbox)

3) I cannot manually add new login details through the browser extension in either safari or chrome (I hit the + button and nothing happens)

4) Whenever I try to add a new account through the 1Password app (in mac OSX Lion), the app crashes and I get a spinning beachball requiring me to force quit

5) When I reopen the app after crash, I have a new empty "Login" entry, but when I try to add the appropriate details & hit save I get the spinning beachball again.

The Mac App store says my version is up to date and I haven't downloaded a new version recently so I don't know how this has started happening. It's incredibly frustrating because while it accesses all my saves passwords just fine, adding any new passwords requires a minimum of 2 Force Quits when the app hangs. This happens every single time I try to add a new password and has done for about a week now.

For info, I am syncing through dropbox between Mac version 3.9.6 and the iPad/iPhone shared version of 1Password PRO 3.7.2.

Please can you provide some advice?

Thanks,

Iain

Welcome to the forums, Iain! Thanks for taking the time to contact us. I'm sorry that you are having some trouble.

We should be able to resolve most everything in one fell swoop if we see a Diagnostics Report. Just follow the instructions here to download the troubleshooting tool and create one:

    http://support.agilebits.com/kb/troubleshooting/create-a-diagnostics-report-to-help-agilebits-help-you

Then attach the entire file to an email to support AT agilebits.com.

Please include a link to this thread in order that we might more quickly "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, though.

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!
  • Brilliant! Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, Khad.

I've now run the diagnostics report and sent it over.

Thanks for your help with this.

Thanks, Iain. I just checked our inbox, but I don't see an email from you. I searched by the email address you used to sign up for the forums. If you sent the Diagnostics Report from another address, you can let me know what it is via a PM. I want to make sure we received your email and that you are not waiting in vain. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
  • Hello Iain,

We received your report, and I sent you an e-mail to confirm as well. We'll continue via that support channel for now.

    Regards,

    Brandt
