Website security questions...
Dear AgileBits,
I'm hoping this hasn't been posted before, but I searched and couldn't find anything, so here goes...
I would like to know if there is a way to autofill those glaringly annoying security questions for website logins. For example, every time I reset Safari, the next time I try to log into my back account, I have to remember who my first girlfriend was or what my mother's maiden name is or whatever question I initially chose when signing up in the first place.
I could have sworn that I read someplace that the new version of 1Password will support the ability to autofill this information along with user names and passwords, but I cannot find any way to do it.
I am using the latest version of 1Password for my Mac, purchased through the App Store and version 4.0 on my iPad.
Any help would be appreciated.
Kirk
P.S. YES, I have put this information into the "extra fields" section of the login in 1Password. For the "prompt" I typed in the precise wording of the question and then typed in the answer in the text field. If that matters.

Welcome to the forums, Kirk! Thanks for taking the time to contact us.
Every site is different, so it may not work on some sites. However, you could save a Login item each time you enter a security question as part of the Login process. Since most sites will rotate through more than one security question, you may need to save more than one Login item to cover all the security questions. Give each Login item a sensible title so you can tell which one fills the answer to which question.

The reason this won't work is that the questions themselves are meaningless to the site and to 1Password. What matters is the data filled into the correct field name which may not have any relation to the question that is displayed. For example, the question may be "What is your mother's middle name?" but the form field in the code that 1Password needs to fill could be called "secques2" or essentially whatever the web developer chose to call it. When you save a Login item via the extension 1Password actually "learns" those field names from the page's source code to accurately fill the information.
That ends up being a lot of work, though, and since I only need to enter security questions on a new machine or in a new browser I end up just saving the questions in the Notes field for the existing Login item as we recommend in our blog post on this:
Blizzard and insecurity questions: My father’s middle name is vR2Ut1VNj
It is very easy to copy and paste the answers right from the browser extension. Just press the Right arrow key on your keyboard to view the item's details, copy, and paste.
I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions after reading the blog post. I'd be happy to help further. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />Flag 0 -

I'm not sure whether my situation or yours is the unusual one. But some of my online bank accounts require security questions to be answered as part of their login process. So I have to create logins for the various questions, a Note entry is not useful enough.Flag 0 -
Yep. In that case you can save it as part of a Login item (or a separate one if necessary). Sorry if I wasn't clear enough in describing that in my second paragraph above. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />Flag 0
