<div class="IPBDescription">Our new forum is now live.</div>It was a very interesting week!
As you probably know, we didn't like the old vBulletin 4 forum for many reasons. About a week ago we tried to give Get Satisfaction forum a good test run. It has some very useful features but in the end, the lack of the basic things, like ability to see the unread posts and follow a conversation, made it unusable.
Many of you suggested IP.Board and this is what we decided to use now.
I migrated forums, posts and users from the old forum and you should be able to login with the old credentials. Let us know if you find any issues.
I also plan to made a few modifications to this forum to allow some of the features similar to what we saw in Get Satisfaction, mainly an option to show the best answer for the question/problem.
Thank you for sticking with us and welcome to the new forum!

I like the this one myself, it seems to be more friendly for my mobile usage. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
I also like the layout its easier to move around more logical layout in my opinion.
Also Roustem looks like I can undo a fubar on my part by having access to un-merge threads again. I am happy to be able to fix things when I make a mistake, whew just feels more comfortable in my opinion.Flag 0 -

I leave you for couple of days, and you are playing with new boards again... huh? <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
Well, first impression: Looks comfortable again. I didn't get adjusted to the SG one.
Is the GS trial over? I didn't see an announcement there to come back to this one (or perhaps I couldn't find it there <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> )Flag 0 -
Roustem and all @ Agile: Congrats to this descision. I was operating as "Hop Hop" on GS (just to let you know, since I was quite active <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> ).
I find it funny that what I suggested came out to be the solution (keep the forum + IP-Board). You'll have to see if it makes any sense to stay on GS or if that creates too much confusion and duplicity. I'm so happy typing this message, although I never was crazy active on the old forum. There are just too many things that annoy me with GS (I also reported some issues with GS itself on GS and those never got fixed - which gives me a very bad feeling).
So, hey again, I truely believe you made the right choice and wish you good luck and further sucess with your products.
LosInvalidos AKA Hop Hop <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
Edit: Are you sure you ported the avatars correctly from the old forum??? I can't remember having a baby as my avatar - but since it looks nice I'll just leave that in.Flag 0 -

Is there a "Quick Reply" feature that I'm missing?
Not that I can find (yet). Doesn't bother me since I preview most of my posts anyway.
[Edit: The lack of a unquoted Reply function is a puzzling omission. That'll surely increase gratuitous quoting, which implies more vertical scrolling to read new text. Foo.]
It's a nuisance that in a full vertical sized Safari window I have to scroll to access Add Reply, Preview Post, and Cancel while the less frequently accessed Attachment section is available w/o scrolling. And I'm not fond of the Add Reply and Preview styles, with the dissimilar looking Cancel a bit too close to Preview Post. And as a left-to-right reader/writer I'd prefer the order be reversed. And the Topic Poll section above the text box wastes a lot of space. Maybe I can find a personally preferable theme to the IP.Board default and hopefully convince AWS to install it. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
But stuff like that's minor and tolerable compared to the laundry list of more severe issues I had with GS.Flag 0 -

This is the "right stuff". Thanks for the shift.Flag 0 -
Thanks for dumping Get Satisfaction. It was awful. I'm glad I started the post about it. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
P.S. Especially like how everything was migrated. That's what I call satisfaction!Flag 0 -
I have to agree with the praise given so far. The new forum both looks good and works really well, specially for mobile usage. Big thumbs up!Flag 0

I've been on semi-vacation for a little bit and didn't really get to test IPBoard until today. So far I really like it!

Is there a "Quick Reply" feature that I'm missing? If someone could point it out to me, if it exists, I'd be grateful. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

IMO, the lack of the Quick Reply "feature" is the best feature of IPBoard <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> I lost so many replies and ripped out a lot of hair using that "feature" from vB.Flag 0 -

Ditto to the comments about GS. The service has its place, but is wholly unsuited to the massive amount of user activity that's generated on your forum. I'll have to look at IP Board for my own use; I need to move a YaBB forum I inherited over to something that's not flat file-based. Obviously (since my user login worked just fine), there exists a VB-to-IP Board converter -- I wonder if the same exists for YaBB 2.4?Flag 0

As worst it might require a two-step conversion. First from YaBB to something compatible with an IP.Board converter using a non-IP.Board converter, then the latter to IP.Board with an IP.Board converter.Flag 0 -
Well, unless IP Board was far and above greater than anything out there, I'd stick with a one-conversion process. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> Unfortunately, I've not found anything to date that will convert YaBB 2.4.Flag 0

I'm generally most productive on phpBB3 forums (although they're a popular spam/hacker target). That software (even with the default style) doesn't have some usability issues I've encountered here with IP.Board and posted about (e.g. too much what-ought-to-be-unnecessary scrolling).
Unfortunately, I've not found anything to date that will convert YaBB 2.4.
But you could update to YaBB 2.5. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />Flag 0 -

IP.Board is a great piece of software (been using it myself for years). <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
If you don't mind briefly mentioning, I'm curious what makes it great for you. So far I haven't discovered any directly useful advantages it offers compared with other popular forum software, and I miss a few things it's lacking or that I haven't been able to find (e.g. printable topic view).Flag 0 -

Hi I Am new to this forum, and I am pleased to be part of this community from now. I have to say that this forum is full of priceless info. i hope to learn from and contribute to this forum.
Thanks..Flag 0 -
Not sure why this thread (a year old) from the old GetSatisfaction-fail-phase is still pinned. Any specific reasons? Or did you simply forget to unpin?
I was one of the advisers for IP.Board-forum software. And with their latest update I think you guys can say, you made the right descision. Now we yet again, have a situation. This time with the MAS only policy. I hope Agile management gets back to reasonable thinking (yes, profit isn't everything, although nowadays it might seem like it is) and offer both ways.Flag 0
