We just finished moving our forums over to Vanilla forums. All existing topics from the old forum software were migrated over, along with user information.

    Dave, that link above is broken. Can I ask why you moved to Vanilla from IP.Board? My impression of the latter is that it was very robust and I was considering it for some future products.

    Looks like we removed that thread. Oh well, it's about time to unpin this welcome thread anyway.

    Re: moving from IPBoard, there's several reasons. One of the main ones was we wanted a fully hosted solution; IPBoard has an interesting hosting model where we're forced to apply the updates. They also frequently closed down our site for going over our quota instead of simply charging us more.

    As for Vanilla, there's several features here I'm enjoying like markdown support.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
