RSS Feeds

In the welcome message for the new Vanilla forums Khad has placed an RSS feed link - http://discussions.agilebits.com/discussions/feed.xml.

When I attempt to subscribe to the feed this is what I get.

Equally interesting when I attempted to use the save draft button while creating this message I got

I just snipped that part to avoid any future confusion. Using Reeder for Mac I just added http://discussions.agilebits.com and was prompted to select a category. Does that work for you? If not, try just pasting the URL for a specific category. For example, to add this Agile Lounge category, use this URL: http://discussions.agilebits.com/categories/general-lounge

Please let me know how it goes.

Hey Charlie

I have found the above feeds do not work properly in Newsbar and or OmniGrowl. In Newsbar I get a domain name parser error and OG just doesn't work.

However as khad noted it seems to work really well in Reeder. I subscribed and it pulled in a lot of posts just like that. I have several others I have picked up from the Mac App Store. Ill update as I try each one.

oh I do want to note one thing that may be causing issues it could just be the moderators section I do not know but the time of my posts above show Feb 9th @ 4:07 AM I suspect this time stamping error will play havoc with most rss readers. This makes it a future event in my time zone. Hmm I think Ill check the pref and see if there is a time setting.

Also I do want to note no new post have came in using Reeder so I am suspecting a time error, well thats my reason and I am sticking to it.

I'm using netvibes and have the Khad suggested addresses in as an RSS feed, so far they have not updated and given that thightower has replied 3 times to this point I'm guessing we are not going to have success.

I'm able to get Agile Lounge in Google Reader with this feed - http://www.google.com/reader/view/feed/http://discussions.agilebits.com/categories/general-lounge/feed.rss

the pattern is to put the correct words in just prior to the feed.rss at the end of the link

Awesome! I'm glad those links are working. Thank you for listing them. I'll see if we can get them added in a clear way to the main pages somehow.
