Google recently began requiring Chrome extensions to be installed through the Chrome Web Store by default. We’re working on making the 1Password extension available on the Chrome Web Store, but until then you can still easily install the 1Password extension using the steps below.

Download the 1Password.crx file

The extension will automatically download when you visit the download page. Then you just need to complete a couple more steps listed below to complete the installation.

View Chrome's Extension list

On your Mac, select Window > Extensions from the menu bar in Chrome.

Locate 1Password.crx in your Downloads folder

Chrome has a handy option to "Show in Finder" if you click the triangle next to any downloaded file.

Drag and Drop 1Password.crx

Drag the 1Password.crx file from your Downloads folder in Finder onto Chrome's extension list.

Step by Step Video

Here is the process in a step by step video that you can pause whenever you need to in order to follow the steps at your own pace.
