How To: Enable Universal Unlock
First, lets take a look at the security settings: Open the main 1Password app and go to the 1Password Menu > Preferences > Security:
Make sure the auto-lock settings are appropriate for your setup, and then check the Enable Universal Unlock setting.
To ensure that Universal Unlock work properly, the 1Password Helper must be running in the background. To do this, we'll move over to the extensions section of the 1Password preferences:
Confirm that the option to Keep the helper running to enable extension features is checked.
Now, lets move on to the extension itself in your browser. First, please make sure you have the latest version of the extension. This article will explain how you can update your extensions.
Once you have the latest version, lets open it up by pressing the 1Password "key" icon in your browser, select the settings tab (the gear icon) and then select the Security section:
Inside the security section you should see an option for Enable Universal Unlock. Please make sure that box is checked.
You can read more about this settings in this article.
After this, Universal Unlock should work properly in both the main 1Password app and your browser extensions.
