Removing Duplicates

I notice that I get multiple entries in 1Password for what I'd call the same site.

Some examples:

Ebay.com and Ebay.com.au

https://secure.powershop.co.nz/, https://secure.powershop.co.nz/login

Google and Gmail

I guess the key here is they all have different URLs but if I change my password then it will need to update the password on all of the sites.

After all that... is there a way to merge these entries so that I have just one eBay entry with two URLs in it, or to otherwise simplify things so I don't end up with old passwords?

Thanks!

Corrin

  • Agree. I would also like to enable an entry to include multiple URLs which all use the same login details.
  • I've ran into a similar issue. The way I've worked around it is to save the entry (or edit a saved entry) with the shortest version of the url that has a login screen available. That wouldn't work for the ebay sites that have different extensions at the end, but I think it would work for the other two. If you go to Google and sign in, you won't be prompted to sign in again if you go to Gmail.

The URL is unique, which is why 1 Password knows how to look for your password. Let the URL change and a new 1 Password login is created. However, if you have different logins for the same URL, like a bank site, and with a keyboard shortcut 1Password will present you with a list of login options.
