Secure website login question
Hi all. I have what I expect is a simple question, but to which I've never found the answer.
I have a site that I access very regularly, which I've password protected through the use of an .htaccess file. Accessing this site with browsers where I do NOT have 1password installed is very simple and quick. I browse there, the password form pops up, and Firefox, or even IE remembers my password and autofills the form. I simply hit enter, and I'm in. Easy.
However... when 1Password is active, it becomes much more tedious. The form appears, but it is NOT autofilled by the browser.

I assume 1Password is preventing this. I must then either manually type the site name, tab twice and enter the password... or select the 1Password icon and scroll to the site name. Then, upon hitting enter, despite the fact I have saved this login, with the exact same URL many times previously, I again get:

In either case it is MUCH more tedious, and gets seriously in the way every time I want to access my own site, which is many times a day.
Is there a way to have 1Password deal a bit more elegantly with this type of login / password protection?? Or is the only option to have 1Password ignore it entirely. I have not tried this but assume it would work.
Thanks for any assistance.

Hello,
for the site, have you tried editing the entry in 1password and selecting in display (dropdown menu)
"For http auth prompts only"
I had your problem long ago
and the solution, if I remember correctly, came to making that option for the particular site
I don't know with the new forum, but have you searched "HTTP auth"
there was lots of discussion on this some times agoFlag 0 -

Thanks for that Gilles9.... I went and checked and yes, I do in fact have that option selected, so its something else. Interestingly, I just found that if I double click the website from within the 1Passwordd app... it opens it, enters logon info and I'm in in the blink of an eye. Sure would like to find a quick way to do that without opening the app...
I'll do the suggested searches now. Thanks for that....
Mark
UPDATE: Searched as you suggested and several results came back. Close topics, but none of the discussions answer this.Flag 0 -

It's been a while... wondering if anyone has any ideas here? Anyone from Agile see this? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated...

Roustem..
I nearly wrote back saying it didn't work, but then upon going back and double checking the fine print, noticed the "browser restart required"...
Beautiful! Thank you very much... exactly the behavior I was looking for.
Very much appreciated...

Please try to turn this feature off.
Turn off the following checkbox:
1Password > Preferences > Browsers > Show in authentication panels
