How to copy any field

<div class="IPBDescription">It seems only the Username and Password are the only copyable fields</div>How do I copy any field? It seems that only the Username and Password field can be copied when you mouse over those fields. I have a service that has multiple password/secret keys and these are very long and case sensitive. Apart from the initial Username and Password, I can't easily copy them.

The software vault has this feature where any field is copyable, why not the Logins vault?

Just ran up against this the other day and that behavior does suck.

    Here is one workaround:

    1. Find the item

    2. Click the Edit button at the bottom

    3. Scroll down to the bottom where the fields are listed

    4. Double click the field value so that it is highlighted

    5. Press Command-C (or use the Edit Menu with the mouse)

    6. Click the Edit button again to exit edit mode

I'm aware of that workaround, but it's dangerous as you might inadvertently delete the value which defeats the purpose of having such an app.

Just don't press the Delete keys and you will be fine. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I do see your point though as it could easily be nuked in edit mode. Was just giving a way to do it though.
  • As previously stated (in an older topic that's probably gone now), I'm not a fan of 1P's Address Book style editing mode and would prefer it had an explicit Cancel function.

I'll agree with this. First of all, it is not intuitive. I love my Mac, but I had to read Help to figure out that the Edit button was a toggle, when I started to use Address Book. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Second, record deletion is final, so once I delete one of the lines at the bottom I can't get it back. Then when I Undo I'm undoing edit changes to *previous* logins! A Cancel would be very nice so I could reverse my over-zealousness at times.

    +1

If you click the + button to add a new record there is no way out of it. You just have to exit edit mode and then drag it to the trash.

Furthermore, being able to back out of your changes would be nice as well. (i.e. Save Changes / Cancel (revert))
