bug: 1.0.0.106 mouse scroll wheel has no effect in main pane

In the main part of the interface, select the logins(?) on the left to show the list on the right - do not click on any of the items, the bottom pane should be blank. If the list on the right has more than will fit in the top pane a scroll bar appears, however using the scroll wheel on the mouse does not scroll the top pane until after you have clicked on one of the items in the list, even if the mouse is hovering over the list.

Workaround: click on one of the items, now the list is scrollable using the mouse wheel.

    You're a Mac user, right? <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Believe it or not, but this is actually the default behavior on Windows. The mouse wheel works on the control (list view, tree view, etc) that has input focus (not the control under the mouse cursor).

Apparently, this is the #1 annoyance for Mac-to-Windows switchers (are there any?)

Luckily, there is a solution and it is called WizMouse. It is pretty cool.
  • Hi,

I need to revive this thread! I use both a Mac and PC. I started using 1P before windows support, so was quite happy with how it worked on a Mac back then! I've never really been that happy with the 1P UI in windows, but I must say it's gotten alot better. (That being said, I'm not so happy with how the Mac UI has migrated more towards how the PC UI works. I am still on Snow Leopard, Safari 5.0.5 and 1P 3.5.13 because for me it's so seamless. At some point I'll have to upgrade everything and just get used to it... But I digress...)

Thanks for the pointer to WizMouse! It indeed does as you say, and I really love how it works in windows explorer and other apps - YAHOO.

BIG PROBLEM THOUGH - IT DOESN'T WORK WITH 1PASSWORD!!!!

I am running windows 7 on 2 machines, one a standalone laptop, the other a Fusion VM on the Mac.

The standalone is running IE 9.0, Firefox 9.0.1 and 1P 1.0.9.268.

The VM is running IE 8.0, Firefox 10.0.1 and 1P 1.0.9.268.

In all cases, I click the 1P button in the browser, click Go and Fill Login, mouse-over the unassigned folder which automatically opens a very long list, and viola, scroll wheel does NOTHING!

Yes, I can take my hands off the mouse and start typeing, but that defeats the purpose.

Which, while were on the subject, why can't more menus be mouse-overs? Like the menus right after you click the 1P button? (sorry, digressing again...)

Anyway, your thoughts on this scrolling issue would be so much appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Thanks for the post, 3gswish!

It sounds like a WizMouse issue if it isn't effective for 1Password. 1Password in my experience is behaving as expected in Windows with regard to scrolling. Please let me know if I have misunderstood.

    Cheers,
