migrating from ewallet (WIndows and Palm)

Options
<div class="IPBDescription">split from "1Password for Windows now on sale!"</div>I am a long-time ewallet user (on both Windows and Palm platforms) and thanks to my new (cuss words here) iphone, I can no longer use it. I found 1Password, and this looks like it'll handle my needs (for 2 in our family) so I downloaded and paid for it. Installed 1password, installed dropbox (yes, i normally do things backwards), and they work quite well. I like it. I also used paypal to pay for it, and the process went just fine.

But the product is confusing. I have credit cards, software, etc that I have in my ewallet and am now in the process of migrating each item (656 of them) individually (*sigh*). My questions are:

* For example: a credit card. I have all the credit card info as well as the login info for their web site in one ewallet item. It looks like I need to set up two separate items in 1password to handle the same info. Is that right?

* same thing with software: like 1password. I have a web site AND a software license. Before I put it all together in one ewallet item.

FYI: I tried exporting my ewallet data and importing it to KeePass. Then I exported that to a CSV and imported it to 1Password. That was NOT worth doing. That's why I'm simply doing each 'card' individually now.

I very much miss being able to categorize my cards. I see two types of 'categories' now: type of card (software, 'wallet', etc) and a folder structure where I can put things. The folders are the only part that is useful since I can, for example, put a credit card web site together with the credit card info. Wish the item counts were on the folders too -- that's the main place they would be handy for me.

Sorry for this long post -- I'll limit things in the future. I have a disadvantage in that I'm NOT a Mac user and so this is my first time using 1Password. But I plan to exercise it VERY well during the next week or so (*smile*).
