Roboform import mapping issue?

Hi All,

I am a convert to the Mac World from the many troubled years of the blue screen of death! This experience has been enlightening and exciting learning my way around. Needless to say I am just loving it <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

Anyway, I just purchased 1Password and followed the directions to import from Roboform. I made sure that I selected Full URL and changed to 1 column. I saved the file as html and used the wizard in 1Password to import the file. I have approximately 1300 passwords stored. As I navigated to several websites to login, I noticed that 1Password only fills in the password. I opened 1Password and looked through some of my logins. In the screen to the right that I can view the details of each login, I see the following info from top to bottom:

Username Username

Password ThisIsMyPassword

Fields

email AnyName@gmail.com

password ThisIsMyPassword

So what is happening is that in the lower portion, I can see the correct information that should be used as the "fill and submit". However since the Username is not filled in the top section, when I click "fill and submit" I am only getting the password. Does anyone know how to fix this without manually having to go into each login and correcting the username?

    Hi,

In 1Password, was the correct username field marked as username? I am testing the import tools, it looks like you need to mark the fields as username and/or password in order for 1Password to set it correctly. It doesn't look like there's an easy way to fix this, I'll check with our team.

Yes I spot checked about 20 different logins and it looks pretty accurate in the fields. There were a couple I noticed that the field showed something like flogin, login, etc, instead of username. All in all the fields are fine, it is just the upper portion used to "fill and submit".

I also noticed that on some logins, even if the correct information is in there for the "fill and submit" section that it only fills in the password. Is this a new issue or is there a fix for it?
  • I have the same problem. In fact I'm surprised not everyone has this problem.

Fields marked with the following DO import correctly

    User ID$

    Password$

Any other field name DOES NOT import correctly. Only the web site title and URL are imported. The user name and password fields are left blank.

It appears each web site has it's own peculiar way of describing the user name and password field.

Here's the other field names that I could find, however you can't just 'find' and 'replace' these with USER ID$

    USER ID$

    cemail1

    cm_email

    contentinclude:loginctrl:idusername

    ctl00$maincontent$logincntrl$username

    email

    email_login

    emailaddr

    formvalue_email

    formvalue_existingusername

    formvalue_username

    frm_email

    frmuserid

    fusername

    imapuser

    j_username

    jobnumber

    log

    login

    login_email

    login_name

    loginenter:txtuserlogin

    loginform

    logon_mac

    mdfrontpage:mdlogin:txtusername

    membername

    mysource_login

    p_val

    person

    theaccountname

    txt_username

    txtdomainname

    u_mail

    uname

    up_username

    user

    user_id

    user[username]

    userid

    useridf

    username

    vb_login_username

And these are the password field names:

    PASSWORD$

    cm_pwd

    contentinclude:loginctrl:iduserpassword

    cpass1

    ctl00$maincontent$logincntrl$password

    formvalue_existingpassword

    formvalue_password

    fpassword

    frm_password

    frmuserpass

    j_password

    login_password

    loginenter:txtpassword

    logon_pwd

    mdfrontpage:mdlogin:txtpassword

    mysource_password

    nolog_password

    p_val

    pass

    pass1

    passwd

    password

    password_login

    passwordform

    person[password]

    pinf

    pwd

    theaccountpw

    txt_password

    txtpassword

    u_pwd

    up_password

    user[password]

    vb_login_password

I'm guessing these could be coded into the 1Password import routine for Roboform Passcards but not sure how you get around this problem? At least add a yellow or red icon next to the imported passcards if the user name and password are not imported. At least there's some visual queue to look at the line entry.

Anyway hope this helps to find a solution. I'd still like to find one.

    Regards

    Rudy...
