Compatibility With Imminent New iOS Releases?

I understand that a new release of iOS for iPod/iPhone is expected this week and that a new version for the iPad is due in November.
Can we be sure 1PW will work properly with these new iOS releases or is there no way for Agile to know prior to release?
I am now very dependent on 1PW and would delay my iOS upgrades until I was confident any kinks had been ironed out.

Hi Penelope,
We are testing to make sure 1Password works in iOS 4.1 on the iPhone but as far as I am aware right now, there aren't any known issues with the current version of 1Password (3.5.1) with iOS 4.1 on the iPhone. I recommend waiting a few days after the iOS 4.1 is released and wait for others to report in. As always, be sure to back up any data you have.
The iOS 4.2 is something we can't say anything about for now. We'll try our best to ensure it works without any issues before the final version of iOS 4.2 is released but we'll share the information about the compatibility as soon as we can.Flag 0 -

Thanks Mike. From your answer it is clear that you work with pre-release versions of iOS so that's fine for me. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />Flag 0 -

Thanks Penelope. Indeed we do work with the developer pre-releases.
Sometimes we get taken by surprise. For example, when Apple released Snow Leopard for OS X nearly a month before anyone expected them to, we hadn't put all of the finishing touches 1Password for Mac version 3. But for the most part, we have time prepare and test for new OS versions.
We haven't seen a pre-release of 4.2 yet (and we won't be allowed to tell you much about it when we do), but we expect it to be a lot like 4.1 with iPad additions. We don't know what kind of lead time we will have developing a version of 1Password to take advantage of new features in 4.2, but we really don't anticipate problems.
Cheers,
