1Password 3.3.1 connecting to Google Analytics. Why?

I just downloaded the trial of version 3.3.1 to try out and I see right out of the gate that 1Password is trying to connect to Google Analytics when attempting to save a login session. Could someone from the Agile team provide a response to this? I see that someone previously posted this same question but the post appears to have been deleted. I hope that this post doesn't get deleted too so I don't have to go asking elsewhere. Appreciate any response. Thanks.

    Hi,

This is normal due to the Login Previews feature. Whenever you create a new Login item, 1Password will connect to the site to download a tiny screenshot and the icon from the site to store into the new Login item. You can disable this in the 1Password's Preferences and it will stop with those connections. The only other reason that 1Password will make a connection to the Internet is the update check.

    To disable the Login Previews:

Open 1Password, then 1Password's Menu and select "Preferences"
Go to Logins section
Uncheck "Automatically download icons and previews for new Logins"
You can remove all the old icons and previews by pressing "Remove all previews"
As for the link to the previous post, we didn't delete any posts. Either the links are outdated or we lost some posts/topics when we moved to the new forum, we are aware that there are some missing threads and posts.

I hope that helps. Please let me know.

More than likely you have logins and previews enabled. This is most likely due to 1p generating a preview for a site login of yours that used the goog analytics in its login process. If you dont want the logins and previews simply disable then in preferences. 1p visits the site in order to grab an icon or snaphot of the page for its previews. In the very lower left hand corner do ypu see an activity meter. You may not if you dont have a lot of logins saved. Or it may just disappear really quickly. When you see this 1p is generating the previews.

As a matter of record we dont delete posts however we have changed forum software lately so maybe it was just a broken link.

Anyway welcome to the forum feel free to ask any questions you want there are always a few of us buzzing around here. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
