Best Approach

<div class="IPBDescription">Backup/Re-install/Restore/Sync</div>I am currently running 1Password Pro 3.5.2 on my iPhone and I recently upgraded to 1Password 2.11 on my Mac with OS X 10.6.4 (Snow Leopard). I've begun experiencing some stability and performance issues on my Mac (i.e.: hanging applications, slow performance, and an inability to shutdown gracefully), so I've simply resolved to perform a clean install of Snow Leopard. Furthermore, I already have a license for 1Password 3 (as shown under 1Password > Licenses) so I should be able to upgrade to 1Password 3 on my Mac at any time. My goal is to:
a) Run 1Password 3 on my Mac (on a clean install of Snow Leopard), and
b) Run 1Password Pro on my iPhone, and
c) Run 1Password (public beta) on my Windows laptop, and
d) Sync them all together!
Having said that, what is the best approach to achieve this goal?
Approaches that come to mind include:
1) Backup my 1Password data on my Mac to my NAS (network-attached storage), perform a clean install of Snow Leopard, install 1Password 3 on my Mac, restore my 1Password data on my Mac, install 1Password on my Windows laptop, and sync them both together, or
2) Upgrade to 1Password 3 on my Mac, install 1Password on my Windows laptop, sync them both together, perform a clean install of Snow Leopard, install 1Password 3 on my Mac, and sync again to restore my 1Password data on my Mac.
Nevertheless, perhaps the best approach is something entirely different.
Please advise.
Thank you!

From your stated goals, you're a perfect candidate for our recently announced Dropbox synching among the 1Password family of applications/apps!
You definitely should upgrade to 1Password 3 on your Snow Leopard system. Depending on when you purchased the software license it might already be 1Password 3 compatible.
All of our products are sold separately. You can purchase software licenses for 1Password for Mac, 1Password for Windows and Knox from the Agile Online Store at https://agilewebsolutions.com/store, and the 1Password mobile apps through the Apple iTunes Store (using the iTunes application or the App Store mobile app).
Please see this web page that discusses how to get started with Dropbox syncing:
http://help.agile.ws/1Password3/cloud_syncing_with_dropbox.html
If you have all the Dropbox syncing setup before you install 1Password for Windows on your pc, it will automatically recognize that fact and offer to use the 1Password data file it finds stored there. If you have already installed that software, this web page will help you switch to the Dropbox data file:
http://help.agile.ws/1Password_Windows/tutorials.html#setting_up_dropbox_sync
I hope that helps.Flag 0
