How to create a generic login for multiple URLs with same fields?
<div class="IPBDescription">Example URL included</div>Hello all, using 1Password for the first time and can't seem to get something working.
There is a website I frequently d/l whitepapers from and they ask a dozen questions for EACH download. I was hoping to answer them all once, create a login (or other object) and auto fill the forms as I go to different URLs for the various whitepapers.
Example:
http://www.hubspot.com/partner-program--inbound-marketing-calculator/
http://www.hubspot.com/partner-program-data-for-proposals/
Notice the fields and choices are the same. I have filled out this same form AT LEAST 25 times already and will need to continue doing so. Please help!!
I was successfully able to "Save Login" after filling it out, but it seems that 1Password will only fill the form for that particular URL, not other URLs I have not saved. That doesn't help me because I never return to the same page / form once I've downloaded what I needed.
I tried using an "Identity", but it seems as though the fields are fixed.
Thanks!
Abdul
UPDATE: 9-17
I saved a form with all the data. Since it seems as though 1Password requires that the target URL be defined for each login, I thought I'd be tricky and paste the URL to a different form (same questions) and run it. No luck. I see that the form fileds have different names as it's a different form, albeit with the same exact questions.
It seems this is something that I should be able to do with identities, but it doesn't appear as though the fields can be customized.
Thanks,
Abdul

AbdulK,
Welcome to the forums! I wish it were under better circumstances, but I'm still glad you are here. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
I'm sorry that you're having this problem. I was able to successfully fill in my identity information on both of those URLs. Make sure your identity has the proper fields: First Name, Last Name, Email, Default Phone, Company, and Website. They match perfectly with the form fields on those pages.
You will still have to manually select the dropdown items, though. As you have already noticed, because of the way they have designed the site, you are not able to have an Identity fill that in.
I also tried manually saving a login for each URL you provided and was able to store and retrieve it without a problem. Have you tried filling out the form completely, and then, before you click "Download Now," select "Save Login…" from the 1P browser button menu. Unfortunately, because the site changed the form field names for every page, this does not scale easily (as you have found out).
I think the best option at the moment would be to use Identities and manually select the dropdowns.
You may try contacting the site developer and inquire why they need unique form elements on each page.
I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you at this time, but I hope that helps a little bit.Flag 0
