Why sign in twice?
<div class="IPBDescription">Unlocking keychain in browser does not unlock 1Password application</div>I use Firefox with the 1Password toolbar (excellent). The first time I use it I have to sign in with my password (Naturally). But while I am still signed in, if I open the main app, I have to sign in again. Why?
Another point: I have recently moved from Windows. In that I used a good password prog. called Password Safe. Like 1Password it gave you the option to conceal entries so that they appear as stars in the listing. However it was possible to reveal them for a few seconds by clicking. In 1Password I have to go into edit mode (With the risk of accidental modification) before I can click to reveal.
Please can you look at both these points

Same thing with an automated upgrade. If you were logged in, why don't you remain logged in?Flag 0

The app was designed so that you could unlock your browser to access passwords and such with out giving full access to the app and all its.. err your secrets. This way if you leave the browser unlocked and someone manages to use your Mac they cannot alter preferences etc without once again providing the password.
Press the option key <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> for quick revealFlag 0 -

I dont have a true 1P answer only my interpretation, when you do an upgrade either manually or otherwise, the installer needs to close the app in order to upgrade components etc so the app would restart in a locked state, err a fresh startup. Hope that makes sense.Flag 0 -

Thanks for that. I understand the rationale. Any thoughts on the second question?Flag 0 -

I think Tommy forgot to mention that the 'hold down option for a quick reveal' was a response to your second point.
If you're viewing an item within 1Password you can view your password by either holding down the option (⌥) key or by going to View > Conceal passwords. You can also hover over the password and click 'Copy' to copy your current password to the clipboard.
Also, Tommy is exactly right, after an automated update to 1Password we have to relaunch the app, and so your data file will be locked.
Hope that helps,Flag 0 -

Yep it was, sorry for the confusion. I thought it was explanatory but as a good comrade puts it, you gotta love this 2D (internet) world and how sometimes what makes sense to one doesn't to the other.Flag 0 -
