Feature Request: Auto enter me within 1Password
I have just begun moving software license info over into 1Password and want to take advantage off all fields I can.
However I am finding it cumbersome to keep having to re-enter my email address in the "Registered email" field on every record.
It would be nice to be able to set a preference to enter "me" automatically on new records, or from a menu selection on existing records.
It seems funny iPassword offers this facility within browsers but not itself.

True it would be nice,
But rather than 1P adding this give Textexpander a look, it will function within 1P and you can set up custom snipits or bits of text to enter etc. I have one set up that is about 2 pages of typing for the forums here. I love it.
I also use it for signing my email rather than mails signatures etc.
They have a free trial so give it look and if you are not sure there is nothing to loose. Oh and also a 90 day Money Back Guarantee also

I agree with Tommy's recommendation of TextExpander, it really is a fantastic app. With that said, I can certainly see the value in being able to fill the e-mail address in Software items with one that's saved in one of your Identities. This idea has come up before, and so it's certainly something we can consider for a future update, although I can't promise if and when we could implement this.
Thanks for the feedback, we always appreciate it <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />Flag 0 -
As it turns out rather than buy a new app for such a minor thing (I have tried text expanders before but my usage pattern didn't take advantage of its possibilities) I thought I would see what I already had.
The text expansion built into Snow Leopard is not available within 1Password so that was out.
I then remembered I have iKey installed.
I do have a need for macros from time to time.
iKey allows me to insert text as part of a macro and I can trigger it by a key combination.
So I set up two macros to insert text and assigned shortcuts.
cmd-j enters my name and cmd-m enters my email.
It will do until a preference to auto fill comes along.
Thanks for the help.Flag 0 -

That's a great solution for now at least, I don't think I've heard of iKey before now, but as I said I'm a die hard TextExpander fan <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
Please do keep an eye on both the forums here and our blog over at http://blog.agile.ws as we tend to announce new features there first.
