Master Password Protection suggestions

<div class="IPBDescription">moved from the 1Password for Windows forum</div>Hi,

I think the iPhone default should be to create with high security. However, given that not everyone may feel this way, perhaps a user option that is set to the default of high priority would be appropriate.

In any event, I'm concerned I may have some records that are not set to my preference of high security. How can I identify and correct? I have 1P Windows and Mac. I don't see it as a displayable column option and hope there is a simple method. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

TIA.

In 1P Mac, there's a small iPhone icon in the details area that reads "Low (4-Digit Code)" or "High (Master Password").

In both 1P Windows and 1P Mac, new items created have Security set to "High (Master Password)".

By default, new items created in the 1Password apps for iOS devices have Security set to Low, whereas new items created in 1Password 3 on the Mac [or in 1Password for Windows] have Security set to "High." You can't change that default behavior, but you can edit an item to change its Security setting on either platform.

Thanks for letting us know that would be useful to you, Piggy. It may be something we can look at improving in a future release of the Windows and Mac 1Password clients.

    Hi,

I checked all my records in 1P Mac - I have about 800. There was no method other than reviewing and changing each one manually. It was a real pain. How about adding a column that indicates high/low setting? This was the first thing I looked for. I could have sorted by this column. The second feature that would have helped is the ability to highlight the records I want to change, right-mouse click and choose an option to set high/low setting.

One more thing... it had been a while since 1P Mac had run so it displayed a warning about a large number of changes and prompted me about what to do. I couldn't find a setting for this in 1P Mac. Is it the Mac OS X iSync 'Show data change alert when...' setting? This is a virgin Mac OS X install except for 1P. in VMware Workstation on my PC so nothing else is installed. I don't use MobileMe and iSync doesn't have any devices.

    Please consider these feature requests.

    Thanks.

    Hey Piggy,

We are working on some mass editing features, but we have nothing to announce right now. Part of that may include some additional columns (such as security level setting), and additional context menu actions for logins (such as changing the security level setting).

Regarding the syncing, this is off topic, but are you using Dropbox to sync or were you performing a local Wi-Fi sync? iSync should not have anything to do with 1Password. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

If you reply to this, could you start another thread for it? Thanks! I hope we can get it sorted out (if it isn't already).
